What Are You Listening To?

There's more to the story of this recording than I know of. Others can fill you in. But what matters for me is a stupidly drunk Jim Morrison singing (I imagine laying on the floor) into a recording mic instead of a singing mic. Hendrix isn't wasted, and deals with it, but later wrote the song Astro Man about Morrison, because of the incident. (okay that's just a theory..but it works).

I can't find a you tube of Astro Man to post (and that's a shame, it's funny
to hear it and think of it as being about Morrison). Well here's the lyrics anyway:

Folks, I think the success of this music is testament to two things.
That the hippie generation was stoned in the 70's, and hitting 30 already by the 80's.

BUT HEY --> WHEN ARE THEY GONNA FINALLY RELEASE A DVD
OF THE CONCERT FANDANGO WAS THE AUDIO TRACK OF?

I don't know if a film of the Fandango concert even exists (I have looked and found no sign of it). But I did 'see' that concert anyway, a couple hundred times in my my mind, while listening to the 8-track in my Ford Torino, in 1976.
..My first car was beat, but it did come with an 8-track player and two tapes (Fandango, and BTO Not Fragile). Far out.

As for the 1980 ZZ Top concert being so much better than one from 1982, well,
by '82 the 80's sound was starting to have its destructive effect.

First life is about what is, and what could be.
